Dr Sara Bodey has been a GP partner in North Wales for 18 years.

 Initially in Buckley/Mold and now in Coedpoeth.

She is a GP trainer and Foundation Educational Supervisor.

She represents GPCW in the Sexual Health and Gynaecology boards and occasionally in meetings with HEIW.

She was born and brought up in Manchester, trained in Edinburgh, and worked in general medicine and Nephrology prior to training in General Practice in East Yorkshire

I have been LMC Medical Secretary/ CEO for two years, having been Deputy Medical Secretary for four years, prior to that I was Deputy Chair of NWLMC for eight years.   

I have been a member of GPC Wales for two years.

I have been on the Welsh LMC conference agenda committee for the past four years and became Deputy Chair in 2021, therefore helped run the first face to face Conference since covid in March 2022. 

I trained in the North East and North West and completed my GP training in Buckley and Wrexham.

I live in Chester and have four daughters, the eldest two are studying medicine in Sheffield so keeping me in touch with training and Junior Doctor issues. 

 

I was a GP partner for around eighteen years, and I have been a Sessional GP for the past four years.

 I work eight regular sessions in two Managed Surgeries in Wrexham. I also perform minor surgery for three of the Managed Surgeries in Wrexham.

I have been a member of the North Wales LMC since 2017 and thoroughly enjoy being part of the team in addition to my clinical work. 

I grew up in Llanfairfechan and always planned to return to North Wales after graduating in medicine from Cardiff University.

I initially worked in Cardiff and then completed my GP training in Bangor. I now work 6 sessions in Mostyn House surgery, Llandudno.

I have one daughter who keeps me busy but otherwise enjoy walking with my dog, cooking and music.

Dr Alwyn parry

Dr Alwyn Parry has been a GP at Llanberis for 30 years. From Anglesey originally, qualified in Cardiff in 1988 and then joined the Bangor GPVTS.

As well as being Senior Partner he is also the Dispensing and Prescribing Lead at the practice.

He became an LMC member following his concerns about high levels of Health Board bureaucracy.

The LMC can influence matters and help guide the direction of travel in terms of how the Health Board interacts with GPs. The LMC can also clarify contractual matters with the Health Board and feed up to GPCW where necessary.

Dr Parry is a Section 12 Doctor under the MHA and sits on The All Wales AC and Section 12 Panel. He is also a DoLS Assessor under the MCA.

He is also a HIW GP Peer Reviewer and Dispensing Practice Reviewer.

Interests include road cycling and more recently, farming
